Tips and Tricks to Keep your VCT Looking Like New
VCT is the abbreviation of Vinyl Composed Tile, which is often seen in Commerical spaces (hospitals, office buildings, institutions, schools, etc.) and garages. These floors are resilient, budget friendly and usually very durable. Despite all this, they do require some simple upkeep to maintain the look of that particular gleam and shine that comes with a VCT floor.
VCT (Vinyl Composed Tile) should be dry cleaned (swept, vacuumed, dust mopped, etc.) everyday to pick up dirt and dust that accumulated throughout the day. It is also recommended to put down mats in the entrance of the Commerical space to limit the amount of debris being tracked into the building, which will keep your floors looking like new, longer. Yearly, monthly, and weekly planned professional maintenance will extend the life of your floors. Buffing regularly and performing a complete strip & wax AT LEAST once yearly is key for upkeep.
A few tips for maintaining your VCT floors:
ALWAYS use a PH-neutral cleaner when wet mopping the floor
Wet mopping should be done daily (after dry cleaning) for best results
Clean spills ASAP to avoid staining the floor
ALWAYS use furniture protectors on legs to prevent scratching the floors
